Apple TV made Available for Purchase today
March 21st, 2007 by MacLifestyleApple just announced that the new Apple TV is available for purchase and ready to be shipped starting today. Many have been eagerly awaiting Apple TV’s launch since its release date was pushed back this past February. Priced at a cool $299 the Apple TV is a nifty gadget for anyone who uses iTunes on the regular.
Features
- Syncing - Apple TV automatically syncs with your iTunes Library allowing you to access all your songs, tv shows, movies, podcasts and photo galleries using 802.1 wireless technology.
- Ease of Connectivity - Apple TV connects to any television set using basic component A/V or HDMI cables.
- Platform Independent - Apple TV works with Windows/Mac or any other platform capable of running iTunes. Finally a little cross-platform love that everyone can appreciate.
Too Pricey for Mainstream iTunes Users
I think the Apple TV would be a solid investment for those hardcore iTunes users out there. Apple TV is able to wirelessly sync all your iTunes media and let you view it on your TV, but your average user isn’t going to have enough media in their iTunes library to warrant the $299 price tag . Let alone most average computer users don’t even know how to use iTunes to its full extent.
For all you inexperienced iTunes users out there the Apple TV probably isn’t a smart buy for you at the moment. But for iTunes and Apple product enthusiasts it could very well be a dream come true.
